Meet Jodi

Too often therapy seems like a never ending process and it is difficult to determine what sort of "help" you are actually receiving. My goal is for you to put what you learn in therapy into your everyday life so that "life" actually gets better and you feel less "stuck". We all need that sounding board to make sure we are on track with our goals, looking at things that are bothering us correctly, and having that outlet to express your feelings and emotions without feeling judged.

With an emphasis on finding solutions, it is no mystery that I gravitate towards solution focused therapy along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior therapy, and a Humanistic approach. This has been shown to be effective for a myriad of issues include family relationship challenges, depression, PTSD, eating disorders, and anxiety. I have been a practicing therapist since obtaining my Master's Degree in Social Work in 2011. Prior to that I worked as a teacher for both middle school and high school students, was a wilderness field guide for at risk youth, and was a developmental specialist to assist people in reaching important milestones. Upon graduating with my degree, I worked at a therapeutic boarding school for several years helping families cope with the ever-changing issues surrounding adolescents and continue to work as a parent coach to assist families with communication issues, setting boundaries, and ultimately helping everyone feeling "heard and seen". Along with this I have worked with homeless veterans, have clients through other modalities such as talkspace and Betterhelp, and have started doing equine therapy at my home office. My goal is truly to help, listen, and guide individuals so that my client can find the answer that best fits their needs to deal with the current struggle and situation they are facing. Please reach out to see if I am a good fit for you as a therapist and if we are, I look forward to working with you!
